Fall 2024 Performance Lineup: A Celebration of Music and Creativity

We are excited to unveil our fall 2024 performance lineup. Audiences can look forward to a series of concerts that spotlight the immense talent of students, faculty and guest artists. The season promises to be an unforgettable celebration of creativity and artistry, from symphonic and jazz performances to choir and pop concerts.

Kicking off the season is the thrilling "Myth, Madness, and Mystery" concert, followed by an eclectic mix of jazz, choral, and pop band shows throughout the semester. The fall performances will close with the highly anticipated "A Jazzy Nutcracker," featuring Duke Ellington's unique twist on Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic.

Fall 2024 Performance Highlights:

Myth, Madness, and Mystery
October 30, 7:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
Tickets: $10 Adults | $5 Youth and Butte Students
Join the Butte College Symphonic Band, directed by Ryan Heimlich, for an exploration of musical legends and dramatic stories. Featuring works like “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas” and “The Inferno,” this concert will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Special guest soloist Ayako Nakamura on the trumpet will add to the excitement.

Switch in Time
November 7, 7:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
Tickets: $10 Adults | $5 Youth and Butte Students
Experience a night of jazz with dynamic rhythm and time changes, featuring the Butte College Jazz Ensemble and guest artist Aman Cowell. The program includes classics such as “Switch in Time” and “Night and Day,” promising an evening of musical delight.

Blue Skies: The Sounds of Timeless Jazz (Choir Concert)
November 19, 7:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
Tickets: $10 Adults | $5 Youth and Butte Students
The Butte College Choir, directed by Luke Nicolay, presents a heartwarming concert with jazz standards like “Besame Mucho” and “Blue Skies.” Accompanied by Erika Ray and the Butte College Jazz Combo, this performance is not to be missed.

Fall 2024 Pop Band Show
December 5, 7:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre

Directed by Ryan Davidson, Aman Cowell, and Dave Elke, the Butte College Pop Band brings high-energy performances of pop hits and original student compositions. This lively concert promises a night of fun and creativity.

December 11, 12:30 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
FREE - Donations Gladly Accepted
An intimate concert featuring solo performers from Butte College. This midday event is a great opportunity to witness some of the college’s finest musicians.

Fall 2024 Kaleidoscope
December 12, 7:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
Tickets: $10 Adults | $5 Youth and Butte Students
A celebration of musical diversity, “Kaleidoscope” features solo and group performances across a range of genres, showcasing the rich talents of Butte College's music community.

Pop Band at the Naked Lounge
December 13, 7:00 p.m. – Naked Lounge, Chico
FREE - Donations Gladly Accepted
The Butte College Pop Band will take the stage at Chico’s Naked Lounge, offering an exciting evening of live music in a casual and intimate setting.

A Jazzy Nutcracker
December 14, 2:00 p.m. – Butte College Black Box Theatre
Tickets: $15 Adults | $5 Youth and Butte Students
Celebrate the holiday season with Duke Ellington’s jazz arrangement of “The Nutcracker.” Performed by an all-star big band and featuring holiday classics, this concert will fill the theater with festive cheer.
